Sandberg being Sandberg

You know your getting older when two of your boyhood sports idols go into their respective halls of fame within a few weeks of each other. And congrats to Ryne Sandberg and Dan Marino—they’ve certainly earned their sports immortality.

Here’s a quote from Ryne Sandberg which applies well beyond baseball:

"Everything I did was who I was. I only knew one way to play the game. The criticism … sometimes I'd hear it and wonder if I should be doing something different. But I never did. How I played was the way I was. It wasn't phony, It was natural."

True and fulfilling success only comes from knowing—and then being—you.
