Hi, I’m Matt—a marketer, writer, reader, and fitness junkie living in Tampa Bay.
This site is my vehicle to learn, grow, and connect with others around the topics I am passionate about, including the things I do: marketing, writing, faith, leading a family, and fitness. And the things I like to consume, including books and music (and some Star Wars…).
Affiliate marketing and partnership development
For 11 years, I directed the marketing partnership and affiliate team at PODS, and revenue grew from ~$35MM to almost $90MM. We grew the program through marketing and content alliances with large companies like USAA and RE/MAX, digital partners like RetailMeNot, and smaller, independent online publishers.
Content strategy and lead generation
I’ve also worked both as an agency and in-house copywriter and content strategist, developing successful online content programs that lead generation and public relations programs.
You can see the rest of my work experience on LinkedIn.
Writing has created personal, professional, and educational opportunities for me. As I write, my thinking evolves—and my life does as well. Here’s a LinkedIn post I wrote about a simple way to make your writing more effective.
I have intensified my walk with God over the past couple of years, and He has changed me and my life significantly in that time. Two recent books I’ve enjoyed on faith include If by Mark Batterson and Frequency by Robert Morris.
I’m a Michigan native living in Tampa Bay with my wife, two daughters, and two very spoiled dogs. Raising a family today is challenging—emotionally and mentally. But it’s also rewarding, and has been the greatest adventure of my life.
Right now, I’m into High-Intensity Training (HIT), a program featuring short, intense, and single-set resistance training sessions. I also run twice a week and try to make a spin class, where I’m the current calorie-burn champion (come by and knock me off my perch!).
Good books change us, which is why I love to read. What do I read? Well, here’s the list of pretty much every book I’ve read in at least the last decade or so.
And here I discuss the books that have changed me the most. I’m building out my notes and highlights on books I’ve read, and you can check those out here.
I like the music you hate, and maybe the music you love. I’ve become concert junkie and enjoy curating playlists like these:
